2 inch lift on front...question

95 F150 SC 4X4...I'm thinking about installing some 2 inch spacers under my front coil springs. They are sagging about an inch low as it is and I would like to get it back to par plus another inch. Has anyone done this? Just curious if there is still enough adjustment to keep the front end in align.

I almost did this with the daystar kit, and I would have the truck aligned once afterwards and then it will be good. the alignment probably isnt nescesary because of the lift, but its a good idea on trucks that old anyways.

have you considered replacing the springs w/2" lift springs, which will keep better ride quality than spacers?

I did this a few years back when one of my stock coil springs in front broke near the top.
I put in 1 3/4 inch taller springs for a F-250 with the 7.3L diesel.
Auto parts store said they would work fine and they have given me no problems.

Also considering the 2" spacers up front. Are you saying that on my 1989 F-150 4x4 4.9L, I could install front springs from the parts store designed for a 1989 F-250 with a 7.3 diesel? advance has them for $133, they are TRW #cc844s severe duty front coil springs for 8600lb and up gross weight.

Only the Auto store can tell you if they would fit or not.
I got what fit in my truck due to leveling issues and also for extra weight.
If you go to high then you need to consider the issues of a dropped pitman arm and other assorted suspension components due to angles being off, The Alignment will be off, The tires will be pushed out at the top from to much spacing.
Check with the Auto store first.

Now that you mention it, I have been browsing the coil spring catalog at work & was curious about installing some coil springs off a F-250 with the diesel. According to specs, they are about 2 inches taller uncompressed. They only show to be about 1 inch taller on the compressed side, but I would assume that it may be just a tad more than that if I were to put them on a 1/2 ton truck because the small block will not weigh as much as the diesel. Curious though. how does your truck ride with those springs? Is it rough?

Correct.
Uncompressed mine were a bit over 2 1/4 inches taller. Compressed they are 1 3/4.
I also have the 300 Inline 6 which is quite a bit lighter than the 7.3 L diesel.
This combination gives me the needed height to level my truck and handle the extra 585 lbs from my plow and lift assembly.

With the plow off, The truck seems to handle pretty well. Not real rough and stiff. I've been in some that ride like lumber wagons but the ride and handling is supported yet not spongy.
