I have an 08 F-150 FX2 and plan on having a muffler shop do the work. The odd thing about it is that I have a Bassani stainless cat back from an 01 Lightning. I would like to get the muffler shop fit it in either stock Lightning exit or duals out the rear, one on each side. They would have to fit both mufflers. Do any of you have duals out the back without spare tire interference? Just probing for ideas.
Thanks,
Jim

There are actually four cats on the 05 and up super duty v8/v10 what a pain to gut nbot to mention CEL light issues. I would find the absolute best muffler sop in the area get a high quality magnaflow and have the pipes mandrel bent to prevent restrictions. with som high end tips is about as good as it is going to get.

I failed to mention that my truck is a 5.4, two wheel drive.

The 05' up SD gassers only have 2 cats. The F-150s have 4 cats.

Several aftermarket companies offer dual rear exit cat-back kits for the 04'up F-150 that fit around the spare tire.

That's what I wanted to hear. That means a muffler shop can fit the rear exit around the spare. I really want to use my Bassani mufflers and tips. They have awesome sound. They are also quite expensive abd I plan on using them. I don't want dual exhaust comming out the same side unless I have the Bassani installed as a Lightning set up. It would then exit just ahead of the right rear tire.

They should easily be able to get around the spare and hitch. I know I can get around the spare and hitch on my SD with pipes. I would recommend spending the extra $$$ and getting the system mandrel bent if you plan on keeping the truck for a while.

I agree. My muffler guy can do this. The other side of the coin is that the Bassani is mandrell bent as it is. If there is to much difference, I'll have it installed in the Lightning configuration. I really like duals comming out the right and left, rear exit.

I like duals to. I used to have lightning style exhaust on my SD until I got headers and went back to a single 3".
