I found a 53-55 COE

I decide to drive my 56 on an approx 50 mile round trip yesterday. I drove the truck for the first time last week . It rides and drives great. My buddy and I had heard of a junk yard with lots of old cars and trucks we wanted to check out. I got about 12-15 mpg with the 472 Caddy purring like a kitten. Anyway the most interesting thing we found was a 53-55 C-500 cabover. I'm not sure of the year as the grill was missing . The cab and fenders are in decent shape but the door bottoms are rusted completely off. I wolud like to buy the truck if the price is right . I believe it will be. The doors worry me some though , as I'm not sure I have the talent to fix them. Any advice or words of encouragement ? Thanks

Door bottoms aren't that tough to replace. I made a gallery of how I did mine: https://www.ford-trucks.com/user_gal...&albumid=25135

I am not familiar with the door skin size on a COE, but I should think that you could easily make the skin you need from a Mid Fifty patch. The door skin does have a compound shape to it.

Congrats on the ride. I'll be looking for any excuse as soon as I can get back on the road.
