cooler intake manifold for racing

what is the best way to block off the heat crossover passages from the cylinder heads going into the manifold, special gaskets available, or just cut a piece of stainless sheet metal & sandwich it in between?
any ideas?

From what I've seen in magazines, they just epoxy a piece of metal over the opening.

yeah, I thought about doing that but wondered if the exhaust heat would just burn the epoxy away.
I guess it would still be ok because the piece of metal will be held by the gasket.
thanks for the reply,
Rick

yea, the epoxy will hold just fine. just "glue" the plates onto the head, and they will keep heat to a minimun.
