Its going to be slow-go on the mods for a while..atleast until all the paperwork is said and done on our other house..
First and foremost I think is to get rid of that AFE Box ( ebay ) and pick up a 6637 from fleetfilter.
Then the CCV mod, I was wondering about this; When in stock form, doesn't the turbo pull negative pressure on the CC? There's no side effects of doing the mod?
Heres the main concern, I just don't want to put any unnecessary stress on that tranny (135,500 miles ) this is the only reason I would hesitate to get a dp-tuner..
BTW, What additive do I need for the coolant? Should I get any additive for the Fuel?
Joe I've been using NAPA Kool I will get you the part # tomorrow .I have been running add in fuel for a while still trying to find something I like Diesel Klean gray , I have been trying out some REDLINE I found . I have been running my CCV mod for over a year With no problems.

Why? If the 6637 is any better it will be a marginal change. Unless you just really hate cleaning and oiling the filter, I'd leave it there.

Nope. OTR trucks have used draft tubes forever. The CCV is mostly a cheesy attempt at smog prevention IMO.

Thant's not the least bit unreasonable.....now a good old fashioned 10K mod might just put a little grin on your face, and keep the tranny happy.

If you use the Napacool you'll need to flush and fill the radiator first. Napacool and your current fleetguard stuff (supposedly) don't mix very well.
You don't have to add fuel conditioner, but it's better safe than sorry in the wintertime.

ahh, I was considering a 10k, possibly a switch on the dash with 5k, 10k, and stock settings.
This wouldn't be too hard to wire up.
I picked up a bottle of Diesel Kleen this evening, but wally world has no coolant additives.. Would i be better off just draining and putting in the orange - hybrid stuff?
Also.. the ecm isn't capable of monitoring EGT's is it? that has to go in the bung on the exhaust right?
Nooooooo....It goes in the manifold, or up pipe before the turbo. No worries....when you get the itch we'll be there to help.
For the correct coolant additive you gotta hit the Ford dealer parts counter. It's a little pricey, but a single pint should do ya. I wouldn't worry too much about changing the coolant just yet.
