Post supercrew questions

I've been looking at the 2002 supercrews - particularly the two-tone painted Lariat versions. Perhaps I'm mistaken but I believe that I've seen some trucks with a wider bottom band than others? Can anyone tell me about this? Also, does anyone know if the Fx4 rides any rougher than the non-fx4 model? I'm leaning toward the FX4 only because I prefer the alloy wheels that it has over the crome ones that are stnadard on the Lariat 4x4.

I too am looking at the 2002 Super Crew. The wider bottom on some trucks indicates it the King Ranch Edition. I don't know about the FX4 ride yet but hope to find out this weekend. I agree, the FX4 has much better looking rims than the chrome Lariat. If I go for the Lariat 4x4 I will get the dealer to put the rims from the FX4 on the Lariat.

Funny you should ask...4-wheeler just did a test on an F150 SC with the FX4 package, they said it beat the snot out of 'em.

I have 2 friends with FX4 Screws and love them. I thought the only difference between FX4s and 4x4s were the alloy wheels, different shocks and the FX4 has a skid plate. No difference in suspension.

4-wheeler magazines tests are not worth the paper it is printed on to me.

If you want to get the snot beat out you take a test drive in an 02 silverado 2500 4x4. These things should come standard with a kidney belt and neck brace. F- in law has one and regrets buying it.
