marine 460
I'm not a marine "expert" but I do boat and keep up with a number of boating forums. Your marine 460 probably has CJ rods but I would say NO on 4 bolt mains and a steel crank. The difference between marine engines and auto engines is in using brass freeze plugs instead of steel, a marine cam designed for mid-range with the maximum sustained RPM of 4,600-4,800 RPM, and the use of marine approved explosion-proof accessories for the alternator, carburator, distributor, etc. Another thing mentioned on the boating forums is that marine engines normally rust out before they wear out especially if they have seen 7 to 10 years of salt water useage (unless they ran fresh water cooling). A marine block would probably make an excellent base for a truck but I'd check it out COMPLETLELY before installing. Deen
