tires

Hey Guys thanks for all your replies to other posts after thinking it threw Im going to go with a 305/70/16 tire and for go the lift for now since my truck is still actively a work truck. My question is this I'm going to put new wheels on also should i go with a 16x10 or 16x8 leaning towards the ten since it seems like a waste to just go with a wheel thas only an inch wider then the factory one. I like the wide footprint but also dont want it to stick out of the wheelwell more than an 1 1/2 inches or so. Any advice would be great. Thanks

definitely go 10". i have 315's on 16x10's with 4.5" backspacing, and they only stick out about 1.5"

it's all personal preference. I have always run 16x8 rims with no problems. I have a little extra protection for the bead, and still get great wear out of the tires. Manafacturers say my 315/75/16's are rated for 8.5-10" wide rims, but I've gotten 45,000 out of a couple sets of BFG's. 10's will stick out a bit more obviously.....but won't be obnoxious, but if you go mudding at all....when you turn, they will fling it ALL OVER your truck FYI
