NumberDummy you have been real busy to get that # in a little over a year.
Lots of ppl on FTE have parts questions.
I lived in Nawlins from mid September 1944 thru March 1945. Don't remember any of it. I was 2 weeks old when we moved there.
My dad was USN, and was in charge of routing convoys of supplies/equipment shipped from NOLA thru the Persian Gulf, and then on to Russia. This was done during the Russian winter, when the port of Murmansk was closed by ice. Russia was our ally...then.
I've been back to NO several times in recent yrs, and will be there again in March. My wife is an engineer, and every three yrs or so, the organization she belongs to (NACE) has their conferences there.
Last time I was there, the USS Cabot, a WWII light aircraft carrier [CV-L] (sold to Greece, then returned to the US in the late 1990's) was moored downstream on the Mississippi. The plan was to turn it into a floating museum...whatever happened to it?
