So is your attitude the 7.3 is before mine as well. But when it comes to reliability how can you argue that its not? So what its not as fast as a 6.0 I think I rather have reliability then speed and if I want it fast then I will make it fast but mine dose just fine. The guy made a point thats it asked a question Im just as old as half of you guys that have replied it didnt bother me one bit because its so true

If you all were a little older you would have a new one along with a old one along with a supercharged one, along with a couple german imports I won't mention with respect to the FORD forum....Oh yea, and you would also get BJ's with the snap of a finger..

This should be moved to the Super Duty forum...

It was my mom who got the truck approved to buy it because i have no credit, but i pay for the monthly payments and the gas. Which as gas keeps going higher it keeps getting more and more interesting paying for gas.

For the young guys posting - I am now 29, but since the age of 22, I've had extremely nice toys. I've had to deal with the crap you're all getting on here too, you just take it with a grain of salt. Some people just have their stuff together at an early age, that's all. I've owned 3 brand new boats 28' and up - my latest is 1 year old now and stickered for $200,000. My wife is on her 2nd Escalade, I'm on my 3rd new truck, 1 chevy, 2 Ford PSDs. I also own (well, am paying for) a $475k house on 2 acres and have other toys as well - quads, zero turn mower, nice power tools, duck hunting boat, guns, etc. I'm not in over my head on anything, in fact already have $100k in a retirement account. I don't post all of this to brag, it's just that some people can't fathom how some can do it at such an early age when they didn't. NOTICE, I say "didn't" not "couldn't" I didn't have anything handed to me either, paid for my own college with the help of uncle sam and the National Guard, served my country overseas for a short amount of time, and took every opportunity to get ahead I could. I've moved 3 times with the same company.

WAY off topic, just wanted to tell they young guys "Good for them" and yes, they may be the exception, but just because they have a nice truck at a young age doesn't give anyone else the right to judge them or call them a Rick Punk A$$ Kid who's parents buy them everything.

My wife and I both have very respectable incomes and have similar thoughts on money. Meaning - not wasting it, keeping our spending within limits, not carrying credit card balances and not buying anything unless there's enough money to put towards it to NOT be upside down on anything we own. If we don't have enough money for at least a down payment, then we don't have enough money to buy it - that's my thoughts. The only things we owe on are house, 2 cars, and boat. We don't get a credit card to buy a 4-wheeler, or take out a line of credit to buy furniture, or stereo equipment, or what ever. The key is living within YOUR means, not the credit company's means.

because you still live at home and have no morgage, food bills ,power bills, insurance bills,no phone bill, cable bill, children to feed and to put clothes on ect. yeah you got us, your sinking your money into a liability that you will never see a return on. sure it's a nice truck but all it is is a liability and money pit.

wow some of the old guys here really get pissy. i had to deal with the same stuff. im 22 and have owned a 2001 7.3 and a 2006 6.0. and i always got the same looks and remarks from people. especially at the ford dealership. no one wants to deal with me or take me seriously. then they run my credit, see i have my down payment, and all the sudden they want to be my friend!!

Smart outlook, my wife keeps me in line too. We have had our business for 26 years. The 90's were the most profitable. Used about 15k on our equity to buy my 450 and paid cash & trade for the rest of it. Had planned on a new 5ver this year, but with the economy outlook we are going to hold off. Had paid off our 5ver 15k borrowed on our equity before I bought my 450. Paid off our mortgage in the 90’s tripled the size of our house over the past 20 years. Put items on the credit card and pay it off each month.
