429 info

ok right now i have a 351m in my 79 bronco. i just got a phone call yesterday. i can get a 429 crank and block for $50. is that a good deal or what? another friend of mine has a set of heads he is giving to me for the engine, so i am set for the big stuff...i hope! i was just wondering if anyone could give me some good info for this engine. i never delt with it before, i have had a 460 in my old F150. is it anything like the 460? i see everyone in here mostly talks about the 460, is the 429 that hard to find or just not that good? as far as i have know it was supposed to be a bad *** engine. any info and help would be greatly appreciated.

You'd be wise to obtain a complete 429/460 just for the dress/accessories; pan, crank snount balance, PS pump, timing cover, flexplate, brackets and other necessities can be obtained individually, but it can get expensive and will be a PITA rounding them up.
