I noticed that when I really get on the throttle, (RPM's about 3.5-4) getting ready to shift from 2nd to 3rd gear, a cloud of smoke comes out the exhaust. If i shift normally (RPM's at 2.5-3), the cloud of smoke doesnt appear.

I cant really tell what the color of the cloud is....

Can anyone tell me what this might be?

Usually when you have a "puff" when you shift, it's oil. When the throttle closes it will create a high vacumn, there for pulling oil from, usually by the rings. The higher the shift point the higher the vacumn.

That would be my guess, and it will probably be a blue "puff"

 

that is kinda what i was thinking, oil or water. It cant really tell what color the smoke is, because i am moving... i will try and verify.

lets say it is oil, what would be the fix for this?

 

Re-Ring it. While the heads are off, check the valve guides.
They are known for being bad.
