Hello Everyone

I just found FTE and it seems like a great place full of friendly people with a wealth of knowledge. My very dependable 97 Ranger has served me well with very few problems until now. I'm paying close attention to the intake gasket and fuel rail threads. It seem very likely My Ranger is a canidate for the full intake gasket replacement proceedure. I hope to tackle this project myself with the help of those that have experienced the 4.0 lean burn/coolant loss.

Thanks in advance

Hi NELSON49, welcome to FTE.
It seems that we may have the same coolant loss problem with our 98 4.0 Ranger as well.
Be sure to post an intro in your MD chapter: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/forum186/ soon.

I finished replacing the upper & lower intake gaskets along with the fuel rail gasket. Most everything was per the instructions on the pdf I downloaded from Rockledge.
When I fired her up she ran like new. I have no codes at this time. I have only taken short trips, but plan a moderately long trip today.

I haven't had time to navigate around FTE so forgive me for the moment. I will keep everyone posted.

Thanks

No problem but be sure to post your Ranger related items in the Ranger & B-Series forum: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/forum35/ to get some views.
