Not necessarily Thanksgiving but here goes ...
a quick comment to donjamr- sure miss your old avatar.. (the truck) Happy Holiday and nice meeting your family.
Sean who is chas1234? I see he has a post at the top of the chapter threads. He one of the faraway members? Also let me know if you have or when you'll post any pics from the Nov GTG.. Would like to email one to the Little Monster so she gets an idea of the group and one of our meets.
Anyone out there brine their turkeys? Will be trying that this year. From what I read online, done right it's supposed to be real good way to prevent dry bird meat. If so, any great suggestions for the spices?

Baked Stuffed Turkey
Here is a turkey recipe that also includes the use of popcorn as a stuffing --
imagine that. When I found this recipe, I thought it was perfect for people like
me, who just are not sure how to tell when poultry is thoroughly cooked, but not
dried out. Give this a try.
BAKED STUFFED TURKEY
> 10-16 lb. Turkey
> 1 cup melted butter
> 1 cup stuffing (Pepperidge Farm is Good.)
> 1 cup uncooked popcorn (ORVILLE REDENBACHER'S LOW FAT)
> Salt/pepper to taste
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Brush turkey well with melted butter salt, and
pepper.
Fill cavity with stuffing and popcorn.
Place in baking pan with the neck end toward the back of the oven.
Listen for the popping sounds. When the turkey's a$$ blows the oven door open
and the turkey flies across the room, it's done.
And you thought I couldn't cook...hehehehe!

Reminded me of one guy at a shop where I worked years ago who tried to cook a natural-casing sausage (Think it was a kielbasa or maybe a brat) in the company microwave without poking it. Needless to say he went without lunch that day and the plant went without a microwave for about a week or two, because the sausage blew the door off.
That employee made a clean getaway though, and the janitor was giving everyone a dirty look for the longest time.

I saw many wrecks this morning on the way to a job interview (SUCCESSFUL!) and wonder if a holiday message is needed, I think so.
Be safe, watch the game, don't be quick to go on a beer run, it might save your life if you just skip it.
Be safe, happy, and warm.
God and life are good.

Recipe for a thanksgiving:
1 part warm puppy
1 part roof overhead
1 part new job
mix equally with faith, and remember all year long.
