bore to supercharge?

I have '06 f150 with 4.6l .. Is it possible if I bore it to 5.4l I could get a supercharger kit for it? They don't make one for 4.6l for the year only 5.4l. Was wondering if there's anyway u can supercharge a 4.6l

The stroke is the main difference between the 4.6 and 5.4, not the bore size. The stroke on a 5.4 is more than most production big blocks.

What supercharger are you looking at? I am not to familiar with the mod motors, but aren't the 4.6 and the 5.4 on the same platform. My only assumption is that the compression may be too great in the 4.6 to prevent it from being supercharged. Yes, a stroker kit is just that, it's designed to increase the stroke of your piston throw. For example, if you have a stroke to the 4.6 of 3 inches, a 3 1/4 stroker kit will increase the travel of the piston giving a larger displacement. Displacement is a formula of bore and stroke, to increase displacement, increase one of the variables.

The 5.4 has a taller deck than the 4.6 to accomodate the stroke. This changes the intake width and the brackets to bolt it up.

What kind of work and how much money do you want to spend.... Of course, the more of either of those two, the more horsepower you will achieve.

Well I'd like to have at least 300 hp and enough torque to tow a trailer with.

Buy a 5.4...

You'll spend way more trying to modify the 4.6L into something you want than you would just getting the bigger engine to start with. Maybe if you're patient, someone will release a supercharger kit for the 4.6....

Are the truck and stang 4.6 different? cause there many SCs for the stang. Centrifugal SCs are easy to bolt on anything. Turbos can be installed on pretty much anything as well but the plumbing can be alot of work (and money). There may not be a specific kit made for your truck but Im sure one of the many manufacturers could help you out, maybe if you live near one of them you could get a deal, they could use your truck as a test mule (wishful thinking).

get a good air intake, cat back exhaust and a custom tune. Troyer Performance has seen the 4.6L make the same HP and TQ as a stock 5.4L with the right combo of bolt ons.

Add a turbo and intercooler it will give you about as much punch as a supercharger and if you can fabricate you could probably make it up yourself from junkyard parts.
