My 54's almost on the ground!
Got the front suspension finished and now i'm working on putting the 9" together. I rebuilt the rear springs last night and i'm gonna clean up the housing today, Just gotta move the donor first so they can get started on my shop extension this week hopefully.

Sweet looking frame there! Was that a painted or epoxied finish? I know a few people in the same stages of a vehicle resto... I just can't remember who is doing what.. Iirc... someone is even doing a powdercoated frame... (I think a co-worker).
How much bigger is this shop extension? I thought I remember you talking about it over at the A&P.

Thanks, I painted it with machinery equipment acrylic enamel, Supposed to be a little tougher than regular enamel. Powdercoat was a little too pricey for me.
The extension is 24x24 which will make the shop 24x48 when it's done. I need to get the 54 moved out of the garage, All the tools and equipment is in the shop and the frame is in the house garage.

So you're going to slam it? Drop it right on down?
I don't hold much with turf machines, but a 54 would be a jaw dropper....
What's the final paint color for the body going to be? Are you going to shoot it yourself? I'd go with bright screaming cherry red....
(With maybe a half shade lighter flame job)

Maybe once the dust settles on the new shop add-on we'll make a g2g out of this... I havn't been apart of too many ground-up resto. but I'd be willing to help to turn-a-wrench or even do some documentation on this one (pics).

Well it will be low but not slammed, The pic is deceiving cause the back is still on jack stands. I don't know what color yet, We're thinking dark blue/purple with maybe ghost flames. I have a custom paint friend dying to put ghost flames on it.
G2G sounds cool! Ya know the documentation isn't a bad idea, I'm not good at that stuff. I've done a little in my gallery but thats it, All the pic's I've taken are on my computer.

Yeah, slightly lighter than the paint color, or even the same, but with a texture in it so that you see them, but it tricks the eye.
Another thought is CHAMELEON paint flames. The body color does not change from different angles or lighting, but the flames appear and disappear, being essentially the body color, but able to change from different perspectives.

but it would be the flames only, and it would be soooooooooo trick looking!
NOTE: A pint equals a quart, once basemaker is mixed. It would be shot from a touch up gun, and I can sign my name with one of those.
The clear on top of it would preserve it, no matter how light a coat.
