Hi guys just picked up the above truck and it only has 43Kmiles on it. I have been driving a IDI diesel for the last 10 years. Can you remove the CAT from the exhaust system because the truck GVW is 10K??

If it has it on from the factory, it needs to be there. I think the GVWR for emissions exemptions exceeded any non commercial vehicles sold by the early 90's. If you want factory non CATS, you need to at least head back to the late 80's

And why would you want to remove them?

thanks for the reply. the reason that I was asking is after reading alot here it seems that headers seem to be one of the improvements to make to the truck and it sounds like I may have a leak on the right manafold. If I go there I was thinking dual exhaust and I only have a single on the truck now. I was looking for a way to control the cost involed.
