Hi all. I have an 07 F150 V6. If it's cold out (40's or below) the truck has like a clicking sound in the engine until it warms up. If it's hot outside or drove for a little while it doesn't have that issue. Would an engine warmer help this? I think that's what they're called. The basically hook up (I think) to the bottom of your oil pan and you plug them in at night. Any help you all could give would be much appreciated.
It will probably help. Some guys have recommended 'dead cranking' the engine to get the motor primed with oil and the valvetrain lubed up. I'm not sure it would work on a v6 though

Thanks for the info. I'll have to try that. Anyone else know of a way to get this to go away?
Ear muffs? I know, that wasnt funny, a little unidentified noise drives me crazy too.
I could do the ear muffs as long as I know it's non causing any damage! It is kind of a scary knocking noise so I always try to be better safe than sorry.
