Brand New 2002 F150 XLT with XLT Sport Option. Tires rubbing!?
I picked up my new F150 on Friday. The truck has the XLT Sport Option (17" Wheels). I noticed yesterday that the tires are rubbing on the wheel well when making a very tight turn.
I would not expect this from a new truck with factory options. Is it possible that the dealership did an improper tire swap at somepoint in time, and I have a wheel/tire combo whose profile is too high for the truck?
I'm going to contact the dealership tomorrow, but was looking for some real-life info first.
Thanks in advance

Brand New 2002 F150 XLT with XLT Sport Option. Tires rubbing!?
I have 2001 XLT SCab Sport 4x2 with the 17" wheels.
Tires are BF Goodrich Longtrails 275-60R17's.
They do not rub on the fender well. The only rubbing on mine are on the outside edge from running up against the curb.
Though these are large wheels and tires, they actually look a bit small within the wheel wells, especially the rears.

Just to close out this topic, chalk this up to "New Owner paranoia". I was hearing the powersteering making some noise at its max angle. When visually inspecting the tires, it became obvious there was no way they were rubbing. I have plenty of clearance.
Thanks !
