just trying to pump some life into the chapter forums.
If your truck could talk what would it say to you? Would it hate you or would it love you?
As for me
My 2wd Ranger would say; thank you for rescuing me from a life of pounding pavement. Thank you for getting me out to explore the great outdoors and romp through every mud hole and rock garden this side of the Mississippi, but please stop hitting my rev limiter every time you go through a deep mud hole b/c you are scared. Not me. ;-)
My 4wd Ranger would say; thank you for rescuing me from my previous idiot of an owner. Thank you for molding me into one of your own. Please drive me more than once a month, b/c at this rate these Boggers will rot away before you wear them out and I dont need Boggers to make me happy a nice set of TSL's will do.
Meanie probably likes me as i tend to be easy with him and when the call for going off road comes up he's ready for it.
My 54 on the other hand is probably thinking "Get it in gear and put me back together.......NOW!" Probably wants a name too but i haven't come up with one yet.
My '96 would say, "Hurry up and get the house built in SC, so we can get out of all this traffic!"
My '64 would say, " Get all the crap off of me, and fix me up. What do I look like, a storage unit?!"

You've got a choice:
It's either "CHERRY RED" (with new paint, like the ZZ TOP song)
Or "T'Mater" painted like it is...

Both, The big one is in the shop and i have a small one for the house garage. I'm not gonna be the one to paint it if thats what your getting too....I'm not that good. I just finished painting the frame tho and it turned out decent but don't have enough experience to paint the body when the time comes.
Blow twenty bucks on a touch-up gun, get some laquer thinner to clean it with, then a gallon of reducer and some real primer.
The fan and feed adjustments on a real spray rig make it a lot easier to do a fine job than a spray can, and if you work small areas at a time you can become a pro so fast it will blow your mind..
Or did you use a real rig in the first place? If you did - one time is not enough to fine down your tech.
If nothing else, you can do the prep work for the final shoot, and while doing that pick up a ton of expertise and experience at it.

I'm not bad using a spray gun on small stuff and the frame. I'm thinking of painting the body a color called brandywine cherry and it's not cheap so i'm gonna let a pro do it i just have to weld up a few spots on the floorboard first.
F100kid,
the closest I can come to rock crawling is driving slow out my driveway. Everyone has their own hobby but I just cant justify scratching and denting up my truck on rocks and call it fun. To each their own though.
