what's this hole for?

There is a small hole that looks like a drain hole in the bottom of the lower intake. Is that so? If it is it's not draining, there was a little puddle in the depression where it sits.

It is a drain, and it exits out on top of the bellhousing.

Right around mid '01 model year I believe is when they stopped putting the drain hole in the blocks.
