Fuel leak here

As if my morning wasn't good enough, I found a leak. What is it and how do I fix it? Thanks

That looks like the fuel filter restriction gauge. If it is leaking from it and not the connection just get a new one and replace it. If it is leaking around the threads you may be able to tighten it a little, but be careful not to strip or break it.

Could possibly be so. After looking at the pic cloer it looks like the sensor itself is leaking. I would just get a new one. They can't be that expensive.

I agree with Neal, the sensor is leaking. Looks like it' been leaking for a some time too. That diesel is nasty stuff when it gets in the wrong places huh?
Your Fuel filter plugged lite will come on with all that fluid shorting out the sensor internally. That sensor is usually open and closes under high vacuum in the filter housing.

You can also cap that sensor off too. I believe I picked up that sensor for $15 at IH when mine started leaking.

Just get a brass plug cap. Pretty simple procedure. I can't remember the exact size of the plug though.

My did the same thing and I just unpluged it, put a plug in and zipped tied the sensor up in there and left it and have had no problem since.

Remove the sensor and get an 1/8" pipe plug. Do not overtighten tighten the plug into the housing, use pipe sealant on the threads. Tie-wrap the wire out of the way somewhere.

Do you mean teflon tape?

Sorry FARM69, I gotta disagree, Some repair manuals specifically state not to use use teflon tape in fuel systems. I guess If a piece of that gets by the filter it might find it's way into an injector. I'm not sure if the sensor is on the filtered or un-filter side of the fuel supply. I would use automotive pipe sealant.
