I am struggling to find the perfect camping addition for my '06 Expedition. I don't want one of those Sprotz Tentz. I want something that will basically let me open my hatch and wrap around my hatch area for ventilation, easier setup, and protection from bugs and weather. I can fold down my seats, throw in an air mattress and sleep much more comfortably than on the ground in a tent, and don't want to have to mess with tent poles if I don't have to. Is there no such thing?!?!! I mean why would I go through all the hassle of setting up a tent when I have a perfectly fine SUV to sleep in when I camp?

 

I know you said you didn't want a sportz tent, these hatch tents are a pretty simple set up and are smaller than the sportz tent you mentioned. It's probably your best bet for finding something that will seal up and provide ventilation.
