Question key pad code/OEM security

Anyway to find out the master code for the key pads on the door??? I bought the truck about a month ago, 04 F-350, but no info on the code for the key pad. I know there is a master code that can not be erased, and then you can program your own code. Dealer wants $300 to 'find' the code for me......I told them my key works just fine for now to open the door!!

There is also a FORD security system on the truck. Under the fuse panel cover, there is this seperate black box, labeled from FORD, with a harness connecting to verious other wires..does look OEM, and not cut/splice. On the box it lists color codes for the wires, such as door lock, ignition cut off, flashers..etc.. If I unplug this box, the truck will not start/turn over. There is also an led light, typical for an alarm. Anyone know what I gotta do to use this alarm? What kinda key fob Ill need and what not?? The only key fob I have now is the basic keyless entry...lock/unlock/panic. Any help would be appreciatd

TIA

I don't think there is a universal master code to open any truck door. If I'm not mistaken Ford has to send off the research the VIN & send off a request to the keypad manufacturer to get the master code for your truck. The keypad mfg charges Ford, who marks it up and charges you.

On the bright side you probably have a better chance of figuring out the code by just punching buttons than you have of winning the lottery. Just make sure if you get lucky you remember which numbers you hit.

On my F250, i found the code by removing the plastic panel at the lower center portion of the dash(2 screws). The part that has a hook on it for a garbage bag or what not. After removing the panel, I looked straight up through the hole, toward the mirror, and found a box with a factory sticker on it with a 5-digit code. The 5-digit code was the largest text on the sticker. I searched the internet for about 3 hours trying to find this info. Hopefully your 04 is the same as my 05.

Each/most brand new trucks that have the keypad from factory have a non erasable code for its keypad. Its an individual code for each truck. I didnt mean one code to open all trucks. Its on a credit card sized piece of plastic that has this number on it. With out this number, you cant program your own personal code.

Im sure someone can confirm this for me!

The number can be found on the RAP module behind the lower middle dash section. Read that thread 07FX4 posted and there are detailed instructions on how to find the master code.

I just bought a truck also, and couldn't find it til now. This is great. When I had a Lincoln, I searched the Lincoln forums and they told me where it was on there too. Awesome information.
