I disagree. This truck had these moldings, and it was a '79.

Look on the left (drivers side) axle tube, under all that crusty dirt, just adjacent to the removable cover for the ID tag.

Dana 60 & 70 front axles have a 2" X 1/2" long metal tag bolted there with a 7 digit code on it. (on rear axles, the tag will be on the right side)

The ID may also be stamped into either tube..at the top.

The VIN doesn't have axle ID among its codes. The AXLE code will be on the trucks Rating Plate, located on the left door face. The code has both front and rear specs, and when decoded, may or may not list all the front axle specs. Only the P/S may be listed.

Sure they did.

No need to argue, the lower moldings were standard equipment on Ranger and Ranger XLT's 1973/79, and optional on Customs. The only 1973/79 F Series truck that never used them were 1978/79 Lariats, because they come standard with Race Track moldings.

has the 460/c-6 im planning on pulling it, putting all new gaskets dist, carb.....in it then saveing it for this marmon herring ton truck or a toy down the road. the lincoln had 83-86,000 on it and ran perfect all the way till the gas line broke and sprayed the coil and POOF. if i could have found 1/2 of everything i was going to need to fix this car under the hood i would have in a heart beat, but everything that could burn did burn

well the other night i wrote down some numbers i had on the front axle....somewhere allong the way i have misplaced them, will write them down again

got my spoke rims on and tires that hold air now. did a little work under the hood mainly vacume lines and it now runs alot better. i tried to put the choke cable on it and broke the holder on the carb off OPPS.

the windows are not tinted they just are dark due to the shadows....but i think they will look awsome at 5%

one great picture of me....most commen you'll probibly ever see from my hand gestures
