Well, it looks pretty stout. From what I've read about them in the past, they do a pretty good job. But, it does seem weird to see the diff on the passenger side.

Well it looks like they set the front axle back to clear the 2wd crossmember. The front suspendion may be tough but it looks like crap. Those are rear springs off of something and those blocks are not the best idea. Might wanna replace those with arched springs. the steering setup is nothing new. They used the 2wd box with a draglink going tot he pass side knuckle then a regular tierod on the front. Looks the be a 60 front with kingpins. The steering arms just bolt to the top of the knuckle. These are what they are now calling highsteer arms. Not the best conversion ive seen but im sure its tough as all getout. And very rare im assuming.

Looks like a truck ordered through the DSO book, as a cab & chassis, possibly without a front axle for the purpose of Marmon adding the drive line componets as specidied by their customer. It was finished by Marmon, a body fabricated and sold to the end user.

Aside from needing a ton of work, it probably is a very tough truck, especially with a 460/C6.

I think a pressure washer and some numbers off that front axle would be very helpful in identifying it.

he doesnt want anything for it....I bought it lol, he was asking $1200 but i gave him $250, an 87 2wd 3/4 ton dodge, and a 74 f100 2wd 351w.

ill try getting #s off the axle asap, but i dropped the truck off at home instead of the shop where the power washer is at. the blocks im not a big fan of, but i figure they have been there for 30 years no problems maybe just put new U bolts in to be safe and go. im not going to be hill climbing or anything mainly just pulling trailers and regular farm use.

no inspections here unless going for farm plates. the blocks i dont see failing me on emmisions....now the open headers would, i have a set of exhoust in the shed that should be almost a 100% bolt on. i hope this truck lasts a good long while, i could break an anvil with a feather im that hard on things.

I spoke with a friend of mine who works for Georgia Power here. He said that they had had a few of those Marmom built trucks and they all were like that except they had utility beds with tool boxes on them. Weird thing is all of them that GA Power ordered were like what you have the pictures of and they had to carry two spares..weird, but hey...it is a semi-government operation. LOL

theres no such thing as a 14-bolt front axle, they were only rear axles. it looks like they are 60's, but im not sure
