Our church van, a 97 15 Passenger van with I believe the 351, cannot be started because the key switch is locked and will won't allow the key to turn. I have turned the steering wheel, pulled the key out slightly and nothing works. It did this one other time and after jimmying with it long enough, it unlocked. This time seems to be worse. Anyone know what is causing this and how to fix it? The van only has like 17k miles on it.

 

turn the wheel harder one way then the other let me know

 

The steering wheel is "locked" because I was trying that before. FYI, the steering wheel was not in "locked" position at first when this problem started.

 

We got it going. Jerking the wheel hard enough finally worked. Took it to the dealer. Thanks for the info.
