98 ranger 2.5l timing belt
Hi everyone. I am replacing the timing belt and have had a hard time removing the power steering bracket to remove the timing belt cover. Is there any way to remove the cover without taking all that off? There is only 1 bolt and a few tabs on the cover but could not get it off until moving the bracket. Also I took the tensioner off since I could not rotate it to loosen the tension. I cleaned everything off but is there a trick putting the spring back on? I do not have the special tool . Thank you.

How many miles on motor? The tensioner pulley should be replaced if it sounds dry and noisy when spun. Yes, the power steering bracket/ac bracket bolts have to be removed. Then move units out of way to remove cover.
By all means DO NOT damage the reluctor sprocket on the crankshaft pulley. This has to be removed to put on new belt. It comes off by removing crankshaft bolt first, and sometimes you can pull the pulley off with your hands. If not get a pulley remover, 3 way type and it uses 5/16" standard threads that are tapped in pulley.
