Post V 10 Oil Dipstick calibration

I have just joined the club and own a 1999 motorhome ( 34' class A)
I read quite some time ago in an RV magazine that the engine oil dipsticks on these models of V10 were miscalibrated-- the full line on the dipstick is at 1 quart more oil than the engine should have i.e. the engines are being overfilled. I confirmed this with Ford's RV hotline . My dealer says (last fall) they know nothing about it. Is anything being done about this such as new disticks or recalibrating the existing ones? I cannot find this issue searching
this site.

You may want to check over at www.irv2.com or www.rv.net

You could just pour in 6-6.5 qts and mark the dipstick.

You need to check the TSB's! There was one issued from the dipsticks on the motorhomes. If your dealer doesn't know, you have two choices.

Educate him on what he SHOULD already know.

Find a new dealer.
