Can you replace everything on a truck?

Can you replace everything on a truck?
hello,
I'm still looking for a truck -anyone want to sell?
In the meantime, I've been browsing the various chassis vendors. I like the idea of a brand new IFS/IRS coated chassis with all the bells and whistles.
I then saw the "mail order F100" for sale on Ebay (all parts bought new). And wondered about buying it. However, I guess that it would not be classed as a "Classic" truck over here in the UK -as it is actually a new truck.
So, I was wondering, if I bought all the parts for a F100 and a *real* cheap F100, could I rebuild the old F100 with all the new parts (except for maybe the wing mirrors) and retain the official documentation? ie that it is still the 51 year old truck?
Can you replace everything on the vehicle and it remains (in the eyes of the authorities) the "same" vehicle???
Yours puzzled from Scotland,
QbE

Hi QBE
If you build or buy a truck from new parts it will have to go through a SVA test
Not impossible to pass but very difficult, more detailed info' here

If you modify a old truck it works on a points system, so many points for engine, gearbox, front and rear suspension etc, too many mods means a SVA test
However many radically modified vehicles are running on the original registration without problems at the moment, Get the truck registered then do the mod's.
There may well be problems in the future with the new computerised MOT tests, if the tester reports a vehicle as being modified a SVA test may be required
