ABS code C1206-2003 F150 SuperCrew
Hi Folks,
My amber ABS dash light in my 2003 F150 came on the other day. I changed out the rear pumpkin sensor, ohmed the front wheel sensors (they were within specs posted in FTE forum) and changed out the master cylinder pressure switch under the hood (my left/rear bulb was burnt out around the same time the ABS light came on). After doing all this the light remains....so I had the ABS code read and mechanic advises code C1206 was present. He recommended replacing the "dump valve on the frame rail". He also advised this is a very expensive fix so I might just want to live with the light being on all the time. Has anyone had this happen to their trusty Ford? Is this a expensive part like my mechanic advises? What should my next steps be to get rid of the ABS light and get my ABS system working properly?
Thanks in advance!
Ron

Thanks for the quick replies racerguy, tpgeneral and bluegrass 7! You folks are great and have awesome input!
I checked all the fuses inside cab and under hood...all fuses are in good working order for now! I held the brake pedal down while I started the truck and the ABS light on dash was not there until I let off the brake pedal and the ABS light returned. It seems like holding the brake pedal while starting the engine would just prevent the ABS self check test from running...not sure though...just and educated quess.
I quess I will start looking for an ABS module and see what they cost.
Thanks again!

Hello folks,
I finally revisited my ABS problems on my 2003 F-150 SuperCrew XLT 4x4...I bought an ABS Module from Rock Auto online($350) and swapped it out with my old factory unit.....(I ran the truck for about 7-8 years with the ABS fault light on)...after I replaced the module a few more codes popped up...C1155 left front wheel speed sensor circuit failure, C1145 right front wheel speed sensor failure, C1230 rear center input circuit failure, C1148 right front wheel speed sensor coherency fault and C1095 pump motor circuit failure......After seeing these codes I started with replacing the rear sensor on the differential ($20) and then re-scanned with my scan tool...then had code C1145 right front wheel speed sensor failure....then I replaced the right front speed sensor and that cleared my ABS light from the instrument cluster....I'm finally relieved to have this problem fixed....it just took a little time, money and ford truck enthusiast forum help to complete! Thanks everybody!
