speaker grills

Can anyone tell me how to remove the speaker grills on my '97 expedition? I want to replace the speakers.

I don't believe any of the speaker grills are removable. You will have to remove the whole door panel. Do a search on removing that and you should find what you need.

Yup, the whole door panel needs to come off. Do a search or pick up a Chilton/Haynes manual

I have a 98 and I was wondering the same thing, except about the rear sub which is located next to the jack on the eddie bauer editions, would that whole rear panel have to come out?

Yes the whole trim panel needs to be removed. The biggest pain is to unhook the seat belt anchor bolts for both the center row seats and the 3rd row seats if so equiped.

I wonder if I can access the speak wires without going through all that, all I'm looking to do is tap into the speakers to install one of those speaker wire to RCA adapters (forgot what their called) so I can put my sub and amp in

That would be an LOC (Line Output Converter). Yes you can access the wires. I believe they can be access by the kick panel. You might want to check out the Audio section of this board and see if you can find it. Otherwise there are a couple of very knowledgable(sp?) people there you can ask.

What I did, was tapped into the sub wires in the back with an LOC and installed an eD sub in the stock box with an amp installed in the rear console.
