Carb engine parts interchangable on EFI engines?

I am looking at a Roller Cam Kit to put in my 2.3L engine but right now there is only one thing stopping me. It says its for a 2.3L with a carb. So I need to know if it will still fit in my 2.3L that is EFI and will it stlll function and out perform my stock kit? Thanks for any information anyone can provide.

Carb engine parts interchangable on EFI engines?

The engine is a 1996 2.3L OHC in a Ranger. The cam kit I was thinking about putting in is a Hydrualic Cast Follower (thats what it says, not sure if thats just one part or how they are describing the kit) from Esslinger Engineering. It says good low RPM torque, stock head, 5200 Carb. Also says the power range is 1200-5000. From what I see and hear, a cam kit like that would be great, but being that its set up for a Carb I don't know how it would react with my engine. Also, the kits include - 1 Billet Roller Camshaft, 1 Cam Sheet, 4 Roller Exhaust Valves, 4 Roller Intake Valves, Set of Roller Springs, Set of Roller Retainers, Set of Profile Tips, Set of Keepers, Set of Valve Seals, Set of Roller Rocker Arms, 3 Cam Tower Straps, and Set of Mouse Trap Springs. I think thats about all the information I have but if you need more and get more specific I might be able to find it. Thanks again.

Carb engine parts interchangable on EFI engines?

Hey Steve & the Rockette,

Just wanted to let you know that I talked with some local people and from the sounds of everything, the internal parts such as cams, cranks, pistons, rods, etc., will swap from a carb engine to EFI without a problem. Also sounds like with the EFI engine, can expect even better performance. Just thought I'd let you know what I found out and say thanks for trying. Have a great day.

I dont get to work on many 2.3's, but have
heard/seen good results with the late 90's
roller cam and followers, you may want to
investigate those as an alternative to any
flat follower cam...
