My 450 seems to generate more boost than my '05 6.0. Towing I see up to 38 lbs going down the highway at 65. Unloaded, it seems to be around 20 lbs just driving down the highway on cruise control at 65.

I'm showing a lot of boost as well. Considerably more, compared to my previous trucks.

Just turned over 4000 miles on mine. Mine is 4x4, 3.73 gears, super cab, 6.75' bed, 35x12.5x20" tires. I average 12 MPG around town and 12 MPG when driving 85 MPH on the interstate. The only way my fuel mileage gets up to 14 MPG is if I drive 60 MPH on the interstate with the AC turned off.

Just checked the F450 ambulance 4x4 with 4.88 axles and 1293 on the clock and it's getting 5.4MPG according to the lie-o-meter.

Well guys - everyone is complaining about fuel mileage on the new 6.4 - let me tell you it is the emmissions stuff that is messing with these motors. The more regs they put on these motors the worse the mileage will be.

The truck I am trading in on my 6.4 is an 04.5 Duramax LLY. Before I chipped it; the BEST I could get in town was 13. With the Edge EZ chip I got it up to a happy 14-15.
Freeway would get to 16 on a good day.

IF the 6.4 comes anywhere near those numbers with the new emmissions regulations Ill be happy. If not, I know once the tuners come out - it will help.

I truely believe the reason my fuel mileage went up after chipping it was because I was no longer "stabbing" the throttle to make up for the massive amount of turbo lag the LLY motor had.

Ive driven the 6.4 - yes it has lag but NOTHING like my current LLY.

Where does the "Lie o Meter" get it's information? Mine has ranged from 9 to 15 on the highway, and seems to change very often. Usually holds most steady around 9.6.

Down to average 4.5MPG. It dropped 1MPG after a regen while at the hospital. It is an ambulance though, so take MPG with a grain of salt as it spends a lot of time over 3 grand and 32lbs of boost.

However our 70000lb quint with a 12.7L detroit gets around 2.5 MPG.

I have an F350 DRW 4X4 with towboss 4.30 gears and I was not very happy with my fuel milage in the begining ( averageing about 9.6 MPG ) but after about 3,500 miles, my milage went up to about 11.5 MPG. It is true the milage gets better as the motor breaks in. Also the Power gets better too. I LOVE THIS TRUCK!

I have an 08 F350 DRW 4X4 with towboss 4.30 gears and I was not very happy with the the mileage I was getting in the beginning ( 9.6 MPG ) But at about 3,500 miles on the motor seems to be the magic number for my truck. I am getting 11.5 MPG now and the POWER went up too. It is TRUE, the more miles you put on this motor, the fuel milage and power goes up. I LOVE THIS TRUCK!!

I got 17 on the highway but was empty and very soft on the throttle the entire time. I just pulled some heavy weight this weekend over the pass and I do not even want to talk about mileage today. Single digits.

As far as boosting, it is hard to keep these things from boosting over 30 let alone 20. I remember the dealership saying on my 04 that the 6.0 should never boost over 25 lbs even though it did all of the time so you can imagine how nervous I get when I am boosting 35+ approaching 40.

Made a 482 mile drive on a fishing trip this weekend with mine. Spent about 60 miles in 4 wheel drive. Lots of slow off road driving and idled for about thirty minutes while using the 12v coffee maker. Total mileage for the trip was 17.6 mpg. I can live with that.
