visiting AZ !!!

hey, im from CT and just taking a short trip, iv been out to AZ a few times before last year. but all spent in the gilbert area really. ill be out there from august 23rd in the evenning to august 30th and staying with a freind in the town of Mesa. are there any close by get-togethers for old muscle cars/trucks/imports? good places to camp for a night or two? i also may look into renting a bicycle out there. so any good biking/camping places would be good to. i also found a place that rents dirtbikes, but anyone know of a good priced place for that? and if any of you truck members noramly meet up some place regullarly? maybe i can stop over/.

any performance diesel truck shops i should look at while down there?

links to some places would be appriciated.

thanks,
Brian.

The Heard Museum in downtown Phoenix has one of the finest displays of American Indian artifacts in the world.

Pinnacle Peak Patio...steaks and shootouts.

Casino's and more; Old Scottsdale; Arizona Diamondbacks.

Bring an umbrella, August is monsoon season.

thanks guys, im really really excited to get out there. i still need to do my planning, but looks like i got a good start from you guys. that sdhq page looks way nice. and some river tubing, and the lakes sounds nice. R there really that many drunks around?

well if there are any of you living or going to be near or around the mesa area, and want to meet up, im game. and i def. want to see some trucks out there. last time i was in AZ, i couldnt stop staring at all the nice trucks out there. u can find some lifted trucks here in CT, but not like AZ. it seems AZ has them everywhere you go. its great .

how dangerus is monsoon season? iv heard its kinda neat to watch or something? i gues ill find out.

it can be extremely dangerous if you are stuck out in the open!

DO NOT drive into a water crossing, stay out of washes and empty river bottoms

even if it looks like the rain is a long ways off...

2 hikers were killed this weekend in tucson, rain in the mountains swept down thru

the wash and dragged them with it

if you use common sense it can be a beautiful event....

a nice downpout when its over 100 degrees is invigorating!

be careful and enjoy yourself!
