My trucks rear end feels "funny" from a stop

I've got a new FX4 F-150, about 3000 miles on it and I've been noticing a kind of slip as I pull away from a stop. I thought I was spinning the tires but I don't think that is the case. I had heard that some of the earlier years had some rear end problems. Am I getting a tire slip or is there a rear end problem developing? Thanx

A slip sounds more transmission related to me.A rear end problem would probably be making some noise.
I not saying that you definatley have a tranny problem. For all I know there is smoke rolling off your rear tires when you take off.

Don't smoke 'em any more. I'm talking a very light throttle acceleration from a stop sign. It feels like the tires slipping when you are on wet pavement, but just a tiny bit of slippage. It feels almost like axel wind up when I had muscle cars in the seventies. Hopefully someone can explain what I'm experincing.
