Since Ford has a VALID contract with Navistar, any talk about using a Navistar engine in another vehicle besides a Ford is a lot of CACA del TORO.

AUTOBLOG = RUMORS, HEARSAY. Anyone from anywhere can post there. It's not an official site for any auto manufacturer.

Until there is proof to show otherwise, it is also speculation on what caused the 6.0 engine fiasco. Navistar blames Ford's software for the problems.

Read the story...the Nissan spokesman states very clearly that using a Navistar diesel engine in a Titan IS PURE SPECULATION.

Nonsense. It depends on what the contract says.

If you remember, Ford gave up on the V-6 PS that IH was developing for the F-150, and IH has already announced that it was shopping that engine around.

sorry didn't read the article just read the title. i really honestly don't care that much about Navistar nor Nissan to waste my time. But I do know that their are a LOT of disgruntled 6.0 owners that will never touch a Navistar product. You guys can blame Ford all you want to about the "programming" but until someone explains to me why EVERYONE of them built doesn't have the same problems some of them are trouble-free. and the few that aren't have engine problems.. that seems to point to Navistars HORRIBLE quality control. hell they already put the 6.4 on hold AGAIN to replace 3 injectors. and that was just the other day.. Let me make this clear I love my 7.3 powerstroke Diesel I nearly cream my pants everytime i drive it. But if i was in the market today for a new diesel. It would hands down be the Chevy Duramax. I won't touch a new Ford Diesel until that crappy Navistar is gone.

The contract gives Ford exclusive rights to Navistar engines. But Ford has given permission to N avistar to shop the V6 around, since Ford has decided not to use it.Navistar, under the terms of the Ford contract, can't sell/give away engines to the competition. The contract runs to 2011 or 2012, can't recall which year. Part of the lawsuit Navistar has against Ford, has to do with Ford announcing they will soon offer their own in house diesel and will have it before the contract with Navistar expires.

There is nothing posted on any Nissan website about any deal signed or otherwise with Navistar. titantalk.com is an officially sanctioned by Nissan site for Titan enthusiasts...go read all about the Navistar talks/rumors. The article is on the home page.

I'm not stating who is at fault = Ford, Navistar or the tooth fairy for any failures concerning diesel engines. I deal in facts, not innuendo, hearsay and crappola. When I verify what the facts are, then and only then will I discuss them. Until proven, rumors are rumors, speculation, hearsay = nothing more.

Hey nephew, go read the lawsuit yourself. Mebbe you can figure out why part of the lawsuit claims Navistar will lose money if Ford builds their own engine. Mebbe the contract has a stipulation that Ford cannot build their own diesel engines. Mebbe pigs will fly...lot a mebbe's. Mebbe you auto become a contract lawyer, it's just what the country needs, another ambulance chaser.

What's a crying shame? A busload of lawyers running off a cliff, with two empty seats.

lol I'm not worried about the lawsuit. Ford Really Really needs to dump navistar if they would like to hold on to the Heavy Duty truck market.. no IF's AND's OR But's about it. Of course Navistar would lose money but who's fault is it that they couldn't produce a engine that could perform.
No that's the last thing i would ever want to become is a damn lawyer... well atleast not one of those ambulance chasers.

Ford cannot just dump Navistar...there's a little matter of a contract.

And..what happens if Ford loses the lawsuit? Where the $$$$$ gonna come from?

never said that they could.. i know they have to wait until the contract but i don't see what the problem is if Ford is perparing an engine AFTER the contract is up with 2011 and there are MANY ways to get out of a contract.
I dont know what will happen if they lose. and the money will come from YOU of course you gotta keep your favorite automaker alive you know
