Yeah I didn't see any Fords in the video. Guess they changed it lol. It's similar to the new Honda plant going up in Greensburg, Indiana. Out of the 200-300 trucks there, probably 5 of them are made by Honda or Toyota. The rest are Chevys, Fords, and Dodges.

My uncle is a communications manager in one of Ford's Dearborn offices, and sent me an email that had been going around the office. I don't have it anymore, but it said something about when the toyota goes up the ramp it says "It's tough pulling 10,000 lbs up a steep grade, but in reality its a 5000 truck pulling a 5000 lb trailer. And when it goes down it mentions that stopping it is also tough, but the truck is only stopping a 5000 lb trailer, and in the fine print it says that the trailer is equipped with electronic trailer brakes.

Farkin' urban legends........first it's GM dealers and now it's Ford communication managers.

Next it'll be the Pope said it!!!

Get over it already, the Toy out muscles our Fords in the 1/2 ton category.

Hopefully Ford isn't sitting with their thumbs inserted..........but with all the blind loyality, who knows???

(of course, this whole thread is a re-post from a few months back)

How many people are there that use their truck to do work and race from one jobsite to the next with a load of lumber, stone, or anything else in the bed of the truck? How many people put an 8000 pound camper on the hitch and test out the 0-60? I guess the way I look at a truck is different than most. Sure you need a decent amount of power in a truck, but I think frame strength, axle size, payload capacity, etc are also very important. If you want a race truck with huge horsepower ratings then you can go get a Ford Lightning.

You're 100% correct............everyone has their own agenda.

The fact remains that it seems near EVERYONE, except Ford, offers their customers that option. YOU don't have to buy the near 400HP offerings from GM/Toy/ or the underrated Nissan........but at least you'd have a choice.

BTW, I own both an F250 and a Lightning............I can ALMOST replace both with a Tundra. (performance AND towing capability)

The only thing stopping me is my good condition F-250 has very poor re-sale and even though the L "books" high, I haven't got one call on it.

I'm sure the fuel prices have sumpin' to do with it.

I actually had a Ford Lightning also. What year is yours? I'd have to disagree with your comment that the tundra could replace an F-250 though. Take a look at my gallery and check out the pics of my 95 ford f250 powerstroke. There isnt a tundra out there that could do what that truck could. They tundra is a fairly "fast" truck, but I dont think it is anything close to a lightning. It may out-run an older lightning with the 5.8 in it but no way could it touch an 01-04.
