Main brake line flexible section

The line leaving the master cylinder on my truck has a flex section about two feet down. Is that necessary? I picked up a solid piece of line. The fellow at my parts store didnt think it needed to be a flex line, but Im cautious.

Any thoughts/suggestions?

Thanks,

Luke

The solid line needs to flex a bit between the master cylinder and where the line mounts to the frame. Usually, this is done by making a 'coil' in the solid line making it look like a coil spring so it will flex a bit but not fatigue and break. I took my solid line and wrapped it around a fire extinguisher a couple times to add the coil.

Thanks, I had been wondering about that. I may get a couple slightly shorter pieces and do that. Looks like the 5' stick I got is just enough to make it and doing any coils would make it too short. Easy enough to fix.

Thanks again,

Luke
