I AGREE, except for the GM part!

What part of FORD VS THE COMPETITION ( aka "Toy") is hard for you to comprehend?

Somebody woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning?

Oh my you have certainly proved your point.......

If you look real closely you would see the tests are actually conducted by Ford. Not to say that's bad, but what would you think of the test if the parties involved were reversed. ( Toyota doing the testing on the competition frames to make theirs look better )

You see the point? It's like McDonalds stating that the Big Mac is better than the Whopper. Um duh, they want you to think that so they might SELL more than the competition.

Give me an example where you would encounter anything close the the bed bounce video in real life?

If you read the Youtube comments for the Frame strength video you probably would have read that the Toyota frame is from the older Tundra model.....

Other than the fact that it has more power, better (or as good as) gas mileage, more towing capacity, better reliability, more satisfied owners & better resale value. Not to mention the fact the Edmunds & Consumer reports ranked the Tundra higher than anything else.

Other than that, yeah, Ford rules.

Yes.
better (or as good as) gas mileage,
I think thats pretty even there.
more towing capacity,
On some models Ford has a higher tow capacity - some the Tundra has.
better reliability,
Do you have any factual evidence to support this?
more satisfied owners & better resale value.
Or this for that matter?
You checked resale value on domestic pickups lately?

Apart from Dodge - Chevy and Ford have pretty much the same resale as Toyota for 1/2ton pickups..
Not to mention the fact the Edmunds & Consumer reports ranked the Tundra higher than anything else.
I will take my opinion on vehicles.
Not someone elses

More power, I'll agree. I just want to see how that aluminum block is going to hold up, if it is used for more than just a grocery getter.

Better reliability has not been proven, yet. Still a first year model, needs to go through some abuse before it gets the "Good" reliability rating.

Towing capacity depends on the model you puchase, could go either way.

Better resale value is actually an illusion. I did some research on NADA and KBB for both Trade-In and Re-Sale Value. Equipped both a 2005 F150 and Tundra as similar as possible with the same exact mileage. Brand new, the Tundra was $2K more, but used the Tundra was only worth $1600-$1800 more. So in my eyes, it looks like the Tundra sold at a higher price used, due to higher initial cost, but had also decreased in value quicker than the F150.

More satisfied Tundra owners, can you verify this?

Motor Trend ranked the Silverado higher than the Tundra, Car&Driver ranked both the Silverado and Titan higher than the Tundra. This just shows each mag/website has their own ideas. It's not that clear cut on who has the better truck.

I read that too. But who's to say it is/isn't a 2007 model frame? Anyone can post anything they want to on youtube. Could be a person that really works for Toy, could be some disgruntled 12 year old.

Not to agree or disagree, just stating that we have no verifiable proof whether or not this is a 2007 or a 2006 & older frame.

Can't stand youtube. Too many kids make stupid comments knowing nothing about vehicles. That's why I take this stance with anything posted there.

I totally agree about Youtube. I just laugh when someone happens to come across something stupid like pull-offs and if a Ford wins, it's obvious that it MUST be the superior truck......

When Motor Trend tested various trucks for Truck of the Year, Tundra hadn't been introduced yet, so it wasn't tested.

Off topic, but interesting news. Motor Trend reports that no more Crown Vics will be sold to the public after 2007. Fleet sales only in 2008.

Buy American? Tundras are made in Indiana and Texas. Some Silverado's and Rams are made in Canada, some in Mexico.

Toyota pays workers in Indiana and Texas in US dollars.

How does building trucks in Canada and Mexico help the US economy?
