Why no oil pressure gage?

Picked up an 08 F250 King Ranch roughly a week ago. Going through the owners manual and other literature while sitting in the truck and noticed there is not an oil pressure gage on the dash. Owners manual states there is a 'Low Oil Pressure' warning light that illuminates when the oil pressure falls below a certain point. Seems almost too late for that warning... any ideas? This is my first diesel rig so I'm still learning.

Doesn't really matter. Ford has not had a real oil pressure gauge in years. Most late model Fords have a 'gauge' that reads 1/2 way up at anything over 15 psi or so, and will not go any higher. Sort of an idiot light anyway.

The oil pressure guage on the trucks have been for show only for many years now. It is an on/off switch. When the oil pressure reaches a pre set level, the guage reads half way up. Kinda disapointing.
