I wasn't saying it wa bad to modify the truck... it's just that the tree huggin hippies are more powerful politically than everyone thought. They are effectingnot only the design of new vehicles, but the laws governing -use-. Soon we'll be told where we can drive and where we can't drive. They are gonna crash down hard in the next few years on emissions violations and vehicle modifications in this great country. I had a cop pull me over the other day and tell me... "Ha, son you're gonna have to do somethin bout this truck in a year or two..." Supposedly there will be new legislation regarding vehicle heighth. =( My truck isn't even big.

well thats why your supposed to go against the grain which basically tells the higher ups politely to take a flippin hike. I will modify these trucks til the day I die. They arent gonna be able to force the aftermarket companies outta business like they think. Mike is a perfect testimate to that. he's got tunes on a truck that everyone said was virtually un-tuneable. Give it time, the aftermarket will have their foot in the door within the next couple of months and there's not a darn thing Ford, nor the tree huggin hippies can do about it.

Again, here, it's not about tuning the trucks... it's like computer viruses, you can buy all the anti-virus software in the world, but tomorrow there will be a new one on the block that's gonna eat your computer alive. In this instance, Ford is not willing to warranty any truck that has been tinkered with. Now unless you have an endless supply of money, a $50,000 truck is a mighty expensive experiment. You can go just as fast, well... faster, in a $20,000 cheaper corvette. So what exactly are we tuning for... to make a 7000lb. truck a race car? That's what sports cars are for... you don't see any of them towing anything do ya? That's because they're not made for that... and so the story unfolds.

We dont have emissions in Florida I can take out whatever cats I want we dont have to do inspections anymore. They did away with that a few years back since all you had to do was slip the guy a few bucks and you passed they got the hang of it and just did away with it. Now we can run around with no cats and straight pipes with no problems... So I am very interested in the removal of everything and run the straight pipe if anyone figures it out.

Its a true kick in the pants to smoke a $20,000 vete with your 7,000lb trailer puller. Thats what drives the mod world, besides there is nothing like runnin 13's or 12's in a full-size pickup. Diesel power is addictive! What suits one man might not suit you and i think thats what it comes down to. If mike has the flow to expierement with a $50,000 rig then power to him, he makes me jealous. I would love to pioneer into the un-known like that. Could get exspensive but thats just the way it is when you start wrenchin.
