I have a "new to me" 02 F150 with a V6, I think this is a great truck. It does what I need it to do. With gas prices at 3.30 here, I get more miles out of a my 4.2 than my 5.8.
I have driven(owned) many different engine/tranny FORD combos, and I like the 4.2 and all the rest.

I have no right to throw my two cents in here, as I'm driving the very first truck I ever bought, and I have never really drivin a f150 with the 4.2.. But I will say this... numbers wise, it looks good. Over 200 HP, and while the torque numbers aren't impressive, if you compare those to the 4.6.. which reaches max torque at 4,000 RPMs, at 280 Ft Lbs of torque, the V6 really isn't that weak, especialy since it reaches max torque earlier on. I think somewhere around 3,200??? Feel free to corret me if I'm wrong!!!!!!!!

Just my .2 cents! (which are meaningless)
