Cams, Cams, Cams which one to choose?
About three weeks about, I had the sad fortune of one of my oil cooler lines blowing and that lead to two rod bearings locking up which lead to the engine locking up. Well I figure since I love this truck and want to get the most out of my 351W that I will rebuild it. Last weekend I pulled the motor and disassembled it and the block is now at the machine shop. I am getting the block bored .030 over and am purchusing new pistons, lifters, cam, and crank (plus other goodies). I want a little more cam in it then stock but I don't know the specs of a stock cam for a 1985 351W HO, so I don't know if I am going bigger or smaller when looking to purchase a new cam. Can someone please let me know what the stock lift and duration on a 351w cam is an maybe suggest a new cam for me?
Thanks, Jeff

Jeff,
I would highly Recommend any of the following cam by Comp Cams:
Xtreme 4x4 CCA-35-235-3 (This one is the one you want)
Go with a Edlebroke Performer intake and either your holley carb or an eldebrock 600cfm.
Uzi... Yamaha Sleds, Honda Bikes, and Ford Trucks....

CCA-35-235-3 210/218 @ 477/493 int/ext
The CCA-35-231-3 has 206/214 448/483
The 4x4 Extreme cams by Comp Cams are meant for 4x4's build torque down low where you need it and provide good power throughout the power band
