Idle air control (IAC) spacer????
hey guys,Im putting together a new 5.0, on the throttle body where the idle air control valve bolts on to the body there was a spacer between it that has 2 allen set screws when I took it off like dummy I didnt check which allen was top or bottom you can flip over either way.
1 what is it
2 what are the screws for
3 what is the proper adjusting procedure
4 does it need to be there, my other 5.0 truck doesnt have it?
please help.

It's a Ford "fix-it" piece designed for when you have idle problems that you can't adjust out with the Throttle Body idle screw.
Frequently I've seen (and used) them on 5.0 Mustangs with big cams.
The screws will adjust the airflow through the IAC.
I think proper procedure is to set the TB screw to factory specs and just to adjust it until you're happy.
Not needed unless you have other problems or reasons for having it. It is a Ford piece but not factory.
