My 85 cab is a rust bucket. I posted a few weeks ago and the advice was to find a new cab. I did, a 1995 F350 cab. My buddies tell me it's an exact swap. This would mean that 1980 thru at least 1995 are exactly the same. The cowl is different but looks interchangeable. Is this a pure swap? The bare 1995 F350 cab is rust free. The transmission hump is bigger because it was a 7.3 with a 5 speed stick but my 1985 is a three on the tree and I want to put in 4 speed floor shifter so I can fill the shifter hole. What am I overlooking? The best part is the price. Free. Actually a swap, as my buddy needs to use my small backhoe this summer, ( Ford 1350, of course).

 

The cab will swap over onto your frame, the only unknown is whether or not your dash will bolt into the new cab. What I have noticed with my clip swap, was that ford seems to have left all the old holes in the new parts while simply adding new holes where they needed them to attach different/newer styled parts. I would not be too suprised to find out you could just bolt your dash in, but I can't tell you that for sure. If you go through with it, you will have to let us know how it turns out.
