bought 08 f350 king ranch 3 weeks ago .mirrors quit working one headlight brighter than other door locks and reverse sensing system quit at random. was warming it up one day and i covered the street with white smoke,looked like the house was on fire.the interior has rattles that drive us crazy. check engine light been on twice,dealership said it was our fault that we did not warm it up enough,we had just drove 30 miles when it came on.fuel comsumption is great too might get 7one tank and 17 the next.going back in wednesday if they dont fix it they get to keep it. fords got a great truck but there is no excuse for this many problems right away,i wish i would of waited till all the bugs were worked out before i bought

 

WOW, sorry to hear about that. It sounds like you need a new dealership, more than you need a new truck.

 

As fruesterating as it is, give them a chance to fix it. It might be solved with a reflash. The electrical problems might be somewhere in the wiring that they can find. Give them the 3 chances, then proceed on lemon status.

I second finding a new dealership. A second pair of eyes never hurts anything. Try to find one with some experience with the 6.4L.

 

they reflashed computer,problem is i know more about the truck than the dealer does.they have not been trained for the new trucks.i have had to fix numerous things on the truck myself,iwent to other dealers up here and they dont have the knowledge to fix it properly.

The 08's do have their problems, know the owner of a dealership and he said he's sold 4 and 3 are in his shop. One already needs a new motor. Won't go into details as to the reason but I would wait to get one. By the way picked up my 07 E350 with the 6.0 and it's a nice van.

This is Scaring Away Consumers like me off. Not sure if I should now spend the $60,000.00 if the truck will break. I hope your dealer gives you a loaner and makes your payments while it's in the shop. FORD will give you $230.00/day downtime money (If you Ask) is common to give a new truck owner, if the truck goes in the shop for more than two days. Gotta Work!!!!!!!! Gotta have Truck!!!

I heard from the FORD dealer this is a 6.0 Block with a better turbo and a slightly bigger bore..

I will pray for you.

i love my new truck just frustrated that i spent 65000 on a new truck that the dealership doesnt know how to fix.iam sure most new trucks have no problems,i have owned 5 new fords in last 4years this is only one that has had any grief.

thank you over a month, and the only problem is, I don't have enough places to drive to.

 

I've had mine for just over a month and 1,500 miles, almost 400 of it towing a 9,600 lb fiver. No worries for me, I love it. I'm with Percys Armory, not enough places to drive it. Heading for Disneyland next Sunday. Good thing about that is the oversize parking is closer to the tram!
