Rough ride II
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 05-Jun-02 AT 11:08 PM (EST)] Two questions on shock removal/replacement. I have the quad shock setup with Rancho 5000 all the way around. I removed the shocks in front of the axles and the ride improved. Is there any danger in this type of setup change? Removing these shocks was somewhat difficult. Trying to replace the shock seems impossible. What is the method to use to replace the shocks in front of the axle? Thanks to "cyberdr2" for the help.

Oh dude, you're gonna die! Oh no, not really. The front shocks were optional, Ford made many, many trucks w/just one shock per wheel.

I'm not sure what to tell you....??? Shock replacement is one of the easiest things you can do on your truck. Put it on jackstands and remove the wheels, this will give you much more room to work. Sorry, don't know what else to say, have never heard anyone describe this job as anything but easy (but Ford is fond of 18mm).
