428 build help

Hear is what I have,

67 T-bird 428 short block with 55k all stock
New pro. ported and polished Set of aluminum Edlbrock heads, dual plane edlbrock intake and a holly Dp 750.

C-4 with a 3500 rpm stall and a trans brake

1963 ford Fairlane Sports Roof, Disk front brakes, man steering.
Ford 9inch housing, 31 spline axles, Full spool, Narrowed to fit.

Going for a mostly Drag car (think Lighting)with very little but some street use. I'm going to use a set of ladder bars with some Q1A coil overs in the back. Mini tubbed with a set of 28x11.5 ET Dot drag slicks on 15x8 steel wheels, Crager 15x4.5's in the front. Full stock interior but chainging out the buckets with a set out of a 64 van. 6-point roll cage.
Lighting Glass Hood, and Glass bumpers.

I would like to be in the 10.5-11.00 range.
What do I need to do for the 428? Nos or no Nos?
What gears should I run (yes Im going to use a FUll spool)
How much will this car weigh?
Thanks for all of your help.
Ron R.

(yes I still need a motor Guy in the Seattle area to build this 428)

That C-4 ain't gonna be enough transmission. None of the 428s ever came with a C-4 behind them for a reason.

i'd go with a single plane intake.
edel streetmaster ported out or victor. you wont need nitrous to hit 11's.
i've seen some street class racers do 10's with the old iron intake and heads.

you'll want an electrical water pump, headers, electric fuel pump etc etc.
check out crites performance for T-bolt clone parts for big block upgrades.
you're gonna be cutting shock towers for the FE.
weight? heads weigh 25lbs each, manifold another 25.

you're gonna save a lot of weight with the aluminum.

dont forget deep sump oil pan and hv pump. you will have to do some oil upgrades.
ie. drilling out oil hole at block/pump.

may want to check out roller rocker valvetrain and definitely billet shaft stands.

check out DSC motorsports for some ideas.

i would also look at scat cranks. they have some cool FE products.

maybe some this helps you.

Im on the crites thing. Have the shock tower kit, motor mounts and all that. Getting the hood and bumpers from them. And headers. Taking out the stock fuel tank and installing a fuel cell, relocating the battery to the trunk. Im not to sure about the electric water pump thing. I was wondering what the car will weigh when done?
And will need help on the motor, far as what pistons to run, what cam, I have no rockers or shafts yet. How much HP will it take for this car to be in the mid/high 10's?
With what gears? Im thinking 4.10's with about 450hp?

I got the Edlbrock heads ported and polished/intake/carb/Cobra pan/pickup/pump/some unknown cam, lifters /SFI flywheel/aluminum Edelbrock water pump/ss bolt kit/head studd kit/ Cobra valve covers, and a few other odds and ends for $2,000 off ebay last year.

Just working on the rolling chassy now and in about a year I will do the 428.

2k for all that? thats great.
450 hp shouldnt be a problem. i'd look into that cam though.
maybe .545 lift would work for you.
pistons, check JE or Survival motorsports. survival has a lot of FE goodies.
