change plugs in a V10 E350???

Wondering if anyone has attempted this? Looks impossible to get to some of the plugs on the back side, drivers side of the motor. Even with the dog house taken out.

Any advice about how to get in there? Our van has 87K miles and I'd like to do a tune up on it but the plug change is daunting!

Thanks,

no help here, but i will say a few bad words for you if you want! i cannot even imagine what it looks like under your doghouse, and i am not real sure i would want to!

i think i would take it to good repair shop, might be expensive, but it might also be worth it.

wish i could be of some help, other than moral support.

I'm going to be changing my plugs and COP boots this weekend. I have a 2002 E350 5.4L V8 so don't know how that will help you with a V10.

However I would suggest changing the boots when you do the plugs. The Ford place quoted $300-$500 to change my plugs however I'm going to do it myself since I'm not in a hurry.

Assuming you have COP (coil on plugs) I've heard you don't need to mess with the COP's unless they are bad, especially since they are close to $100 each.

Also I don't know if you have an aluminum block which I understand I have so when retightening the spark plugs (if you have aluminum block) make sure not to exceed 15 ft-lb of torque and use anti-seize on the threads.

Good luck.
